Advanced Nurse Practitioner
Julia has been a Nurse Practitioner since 2003 and started prescribing from 2004. She has a wide range of experience of most general illnesses and with chronic diseases such as diabetes, asthma and COPD.
She also have a great deal of experience of Mental Health - depression and anxiety - also Womens' Health which includes breast problems, contraception and prolapse issues.
She also does detailed medication, learning disabilities, care of elderly and dementia reviews.
Julia also carries out the cancer care reviews to ensure patients are receiving all the support they need.
Alan Westrip
Specialist Paramedic
Alan was pleased to be in the first intake of paramedics in the UK and qualified in 1992. After 35 years in the Ambulance service, he moved to new roles ending with training at Lincoln University and then masters level at Sheffield Hallam University for prescribing. Alan started work at Church Lane in January 2021, also working within 4 other surgeries across our PCN. He very soon found the staff and patients at Church Lane Medical Centre to be exceptional and moved here full time in April 2022. He is the Gold Standards Framework Lead for Church Lane Medical Centre dealing with end of life, Respect forms and assessments. He undertakes visits to patients in Care Homes and those who are unable to leave their home as well as seeing patients onsite at the surgery. Alan continues to increase his knowledge to ensure his patients get the best care.
Gail Cox
Practice Nurse
Gail is the practice's Lead Respiratory Nurse and has specialist knowledge and interest in asthma and COPD.
In addition she offers a wide range of other nursing services including wound dressings, ear syringing, immunisations, injections, travel vaccinations and advice and cervical smears. She can also give advice on common illnesses and injuries, contraception, diet and stopping smoking.
Sally Goff
Sexual and Women's Health Nurse/Practice Nurse
As well as providing a wide range of nursing services such as wound dressing and immunisations, Sally has a qualification in Sexual and Reproductive health and is able to fit/remove coils and implants and offer contraceptive and sexual health advice.
She also has a particular interest and knowledge of the menopause and can prescribe and review HRT and offer support and advice.
Sally has completed a Minor Illness qualification which means she can see and assess patients with a range of symptoms including sore throats/coughs, back pain, rash/skin problems and abdominal pain.
Nic White
Practice Nurse
Nic offers a wide range of nursing services including wound dressings, ear syringing, immunisations, injections, travel vaccinations and advice, cervical smears and asthma and COPD monitoring. She can also give advice on common illnesses and injuries, contraception, diet and stopping smoking.
Nic has a specialist interest in diabetes and undertakes diabetic reviews with patients.
Helen Clark
Trainee Nursing Associate
Helen provides a wide range of services for our patients including, phlebotomy (blood sampling), BP monitoring, ECG heart tracing tests, new patient health checks, and wound dressing.
She can also give pneumonia, flu vaccinations, B12 injections and provide suture removal.
Already an experienced Health Care Assistant, Helen is undertaking additional training at University to become a Nursing Associate to offer a wider range of services to patients.

She can also give flu vaccinations, B12 injections and provide suture removal.
Having previously worked at the hospital, Teresa enjoys working in primary care which gives her the opportunity to build up a friendly and caring relationship with our patients.

Cheryl Dunstan
Mental Health Practitioner
Having worked extensively as a Mental Health Nurse within the prison service, Cheryl is now working across a number of local practices to provide support in triaging mental health concerns raised by patients.
Her role includes reviewing patients and considering a range of options regarding treatment. She provides patients with specialised advice concerning their care and, when appropriate, will liase with the GPs and Mental Health teams.
She offers brief interventions as needed for example, problem solving, decision making, building resilience, building on personal strengths, risk de-escalation and will also signpost patients to the appropriate services. She can also give medication advice and prescribe.
Michelle Atkinson
First Contact Physiotherapist
Michelle works as a first contact physiotherapist in the practice and her job role involves assessment and treatment of a variety of musculoskeletal problems and appropriate onward referral to other services.
Michelle has over 10 years of experience working as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist and has enjoyed transferring her knowledge of a secondary care environment to the primary care system.

Faith Woodcock
Practice/Business Manager
Faith is responsible for all aspects of running the practice including finance, health and safety, human resources, estates and service planning and development.

Kirstie Hornsey
Deputy Practice Manager
Kirstie joined Church Lane in 2019 having previously worked in reception and administration at another practice.
Kirstie brings with her a wealth of experience and is responsible for the smooth day to day running of patient services and the supervision of administrative staff.
Kirstie is also responsible for all subject access requests and resolving any customer service issues.
She welcomes any feedback or suggestions and can be contacted at the medical centre.
Claire Krajnik
Reception Supervisor
Joining the practice in 2017 as a receptionist, Claire was quickly promoted to Reception Supervisor. She is responsible for coordinating the activities of the reception team, patient services and clinical appointment organisation.
Claire has an empathetic approach to delivering customer service and is always available to assist patients with any queries they may have. She welcomes any feedback or ideas on improving patient care.

Joining Church Lane from another local practice, Molly has a wide range of experience in all areas of reception.
Molly also helps with administration, including ensuring patients are invited for their health checks and other annual reviews. Molly deals with the administration of the ReSPECT forms and can help with queries regarding the processing of these.
Sharon Hewson
Receptionist
Having previously worked on reception at A & E, Sharon has a huge amount of experience in helping patients who are in need of emergency care.
She works in all areas on reception, including taking and processing prescription requests.
Emma Lings
Receptionist
Having previous worked at a pharmacy, Emma has extensive knowledge of prescriptions and can often help resolve issues and queries regarding these.
She works across all other areas of reception and also as an administrator. Emma is currently our Learning Disability Champion and will help arrange annual learning disability health checks and act as a contact for patients and their families/carers.

Receptionist/Over 75 Co-ordinator
Having joined the practice in 1993, Lynn is an expert in all areas of reception.
In recent years Lynn has taken on the role of over 75 Co-ordinator offering befriending, support and signposting to patients over 75 and carers. More details about the over 75 Co-ordinator service can be found here.
ADMINISTRATION TEAM
Sarah Baggaley
Lead Scanner and Clinical Coder
Sarah started with the practice in 2003. As part of her role as Lead Scanner, Sarah is responsible for processing clinical correspondance and read-coding diagnosises, medical procedures etc. Sarah will forward correspondance onto the GP if any further action required. She will also action any tasks as required by the GPs.
Sarah's role also involves filing pathology and cytology results and dealing with generic emails.
Sophie Ferrier
Medical Secretary/Care Co-ordinator
Sophie is a member of our secretarial team and her duties include processing referrals to specialists.
Recently Sophie has taken on an additional role as a Care Co-ordinator, working closely with Care Homes and vulnerable patients to ensure all their needs are met.
Chloe Hill
Medical Secretary
Chloe works within our secretarial team where her duties include processing referrals and dealing with queries from both GPs and patients.
In addition, Chloe has responsibility for administrative duties for the practice including product ordering.

Denise Miles
Medical Reports Administrator
Denise previously worked as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner at the practice. When she retired from nursing she made the decision to stay on at Church Lane Medical Centre and took on a new part-time role processing all the Medical Report requests. She will liaise with insurance companies and patients to ensure these are dealt with efficiently.

Sue joined the practice in 2018, intially as a Data Administrator making sure patients are invited for their appropriate health reviews.
Recently Sue has taken on an additional role as Care Co-ordinator, working closely with Care Homes and vulnerable patients to ensure all their needs are met.
Beth Simpson
Medical Secretary/Summariser
Beth has been with Church Lane since 2019, joining us from another local practice. Her role as Medical Secretary includes processing referrals and dealing with GP and Patient queries.
In addition Beth is responsible for summarising patient paper records (Lloyd George records) and transferring these into electronic form. This is an important task to ensure diagnoses are recorded correctly.
